My little cousins have been staying at my mom's house so far the whole week. They keep me busy as they can't seem to get through most levels on the games. They insist I "try" and then end up watching me do the whole thing for a couple hours. One of the kids, a 6 year old girl, is crying right now, wanting to go home. She swims, eats and has a great time, then suddenly decides she has to go home. My older cousin is turning 12 today, so she and her mom went out for dinner for her birthday, the other two kids, 6yr old girl and 8 yr old boy, said they didn't want to go. I think it's a great idea for the older one to bond a bit with her mother on her birthday.

Also, this is my last week of Teaching Writing with Technology class. It has been a very interesting class, discovering how to use the computer through your classroom curriculum. The final project is an annotated bibliography and I have to say I think I need more practice.

August 6th is coming soon! I cannot wait to buy my Lord of the Rings DVD! I have been a fantasy buff since I started reading The Wheel of Time series and now I just can't get enough! You could say it changed my life, even inspired the fairy tattoo on my back.

I just got back from my grandmothers house, I spent the weekend there, bonding with my younger cousins. Of course, I brought my Nintendo 64 with me, and that is a definite bonding experience as we slaughter endless supplies of skeletons and dragons. The extensive high-fives and gasps were enough to make a fun weekend for pre-teens (including myself). Also, there is the fact that at my grandparents house, we get fed. And I dont mean fed, I mean fed.

1)Cheeseburgers
2)pancakes
3)chicken
4)porkchops
5)juice
6)pie
7)ice cream
8)etc, etc, etc.

Made it through the Zelda (Gold version of Ocarina of Time) level of the Fire Medallion. That was quite a fight, as I talked my way into playing my own system by suggesting to my little 7 year old cousin that she could play with my horse and ride it if I could get through that level. It worked.

There is nothing like the close call of death to put you in a good mood. Aspen, Janelle and I were driving out to the Amigo, approaching the intersection in front of the airport when the light suddenly turns red. *I must've been chatting too much to notice the color yellow* I was going a bit fast and slammed on the brakes so I wouldn't plow through.

When I looked in the rear-view mirror, there was a truck two times the size of my baby car speeding down the highway, ready to crack us open like a ripe watermelon. He swerved just in time, maybe inches from smacking into us and I swear that driver didn't even have the common sense to start slowing down, as I noticed he went right through the obvious red light and down the highway going at least 75MPH.

Now, as I sit at my computer, I notice I am excited, nervous and tingly all over.

Went shopping with my mom at Wally World. We did the usual impulse shopping, and I had a flashback of asking for something and getting it as usual. Mom has always been the best with requested assistance in monetary matters.

The only problem is that when we got home, I heard from upstairs, "Aya! You let me walk around Walmart with my 'Weight Watchers' name tag on?!" My only response is that if I didn't notice, perhaps nobody else did.

Made meatloaf out of three different recipes tonight, my roommate was hungry and all I could find was hamburger. So, I went from one recipe of meatloaf to the next, filling in missing ingredients with other ingredients from other recipes. It actually turned out quite nummy. Here is the recipe I came up with...

1 1/2 lbs of hamburger
2 Tablespoons of minced onions
Half a red pepper
Salt
Pepper
Lawry's spice
1 cup of crackers
1 egg

mix all in a bowl with a potatoe masher and stuff neatly into a bread pan. Bake at 390 until sizzling around the sides.
Quit my job today. I had those usual anxiety butterflies doing summersaults as I thought about it all morning. It's not the job part I'm anxious about, it's actually going to the head boss and telling them I am leaving. I decided on a one week notice, just because I want out of that Hell. Not to mention getting away from my boss, who would much rather point out every mistake than to congratulate you on a job well done.

I don't think she ever learned about positive affirmation in her manager training.

I plan on still attending the plant picnic, just so I can say goodbye to everyone. I have my "resignation" day the day before, but I question,

"Who would notice?"

Maybe I will win something nice, hopefully not PDO (Paid vacation hours). That would be irony at it’s finest.

It suddenly struck me today that I refer to myself as a “gamer”. What kind of qualifications are there to be in this “l33t” group anyhow?

1)No dating…whatsoever
2)At least 6 hours a night spent on a game
3)Extensive use of chat-room lingo
4)Your own computer, preferably

I cannot decide if I am proud to be in this class of homo-sapiens…or saddened. Since I have quit playing Everquest, but still have all this knowledge, am I still a "gamer"?

I am doing my best not to just keep typing, but It's as if I have this new toy that I can't put down.

I showed a friend of mine this blog and he asked me, "not gonna make a life as a profession student? *snicker*" Of course, this is a daily joke with my friends, since I have been going to college since 1997. You could say it was a long journey to find my niche. And, yes, I want to be a lifetime student. I love to learn! So throw those textbooks at me, I don't care! I want it all and I want it now!
Do you think it is possible to get away with murder if you have PMS? Maybe not murder, maybe a lethal beating or a strong punch in the arm.

Earlier I layed out on the cement in the driveway. I stared at the dark clouds and dared them to rain on me. I warned them that they would make a huge mistake if they did.

I am soaked to the bone. Could really use a towel, but I figure I need to learn my lesson and take what is dished out.
I believe I may go insane one of these days. I thought I would be able to attain my very own web domain, as in www.amlindahl.org and I cannot seem to connect to the sucker!

I have a predicament as I type; a warm fuzzy kitten curled up around my neck and dinner being served upstairs. Well, maybe the kitten can come along. "Coming Mom!"
